On August 8th, 2008, the opening day of the Beijing Olympic Games, Air China gave passengers special greetings.Air China is the official partner of the Beijing Olympic Games.

To share the joy and happiness brought by the Olympic Games which are commanding the focus of the world, Air China prepared special commemorative Olympic postcards for passengers departing from Beijing. Upon check-in, passengers received a greetings postcard from Air China on which they would write their name and address.  Air China's ground service personnel would mail these postcards through the Terminal 3 post office which would commemoratively postmark the postcards with ¡¥Beijing T3, August 8, 2008. To highlight this special day, Air China staff asked the post office in advance to apply a commemorative stamp of the Beijing National Stadium (The Bird's Nest Olympic Stadium). Passengers were very excited upon receiving this surprise from Air China as they did not expect such a memorable gift issued on the opening day of the Olympic Games. One passenger from Hong Kong was concerned the postcard may not reach him so he claimed an extra card in order to fill-in his friend¡¦s address. The Air China staff made sure all postcards being sent to Hong Kong and Macao were separated out to ensure they were sent with sufficient postage.

In order to arouse the enthusiasm of passengers on their way to the Olympic Games, all branches and ground bases of Air China gave their best wishes in various forms, including providing many in-flight activities with sky sports as the theme.
