On September 11, Air China successfully provided a charter flight for more than 340 cadres, sent by central state organizations and national enterprises. This flight was sent to Urumqi to support construction in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The carefully secured Air China flight, complete with the airline¡¦s characteristic services, was highly regarded by the guests.

Air China placed a great deal of importance on this charter flight and ensured that their various departments carried out meticulous preparation. Vice President Yang Lihua was present at the airport to see the guests off. Chief Captain Liu Fu, who has implemented many special charter flights and served in the Sichuan earthquake relief mission, was chosen as flight leader. The selected Air China flight crew had extensive experience in special charter flight services, as had the maintenance staff that carried out an advance special inspection of the aircraft ensuring its safety. The new cream-colored upholstery that had been added to the aircraft¡¦s interior was a pleasant touch which created a warm, comfortable atmosphere in the air.

During the flight, the air crew enthusiastically presented carefully prepared radio announcements for their guests. The flight attendants also distributed special sweet moon cakes to express the blessings of Air China for Mid-Autumn Festival eve. In addition, the onboard food was carefully prepared with the special addition of a halal option. Throughout the flight, the operation control center imposed strict monitoring and supervision, ensuring security and faultless execution of the flight plan.

The charter flight took off on schedule at 10:00am and arrived safely at Urumqi airport at 14:15pm.

On September 9, 2008, Air China sent a special envoy to accelerate ticket sales on-site to the Jingxi Hotel, the gathering location of the Xinjiang-bound cadres. When purchasing tickets, each guest received a ¡§tip card¡¨ from the staff, containing warm words of welcome, their flight and travel procedure schedule, as well as waiting notes, boarding times, weight, size and content requirements for checked and hand luggage. This courtesy was implemented to help guests understand the various checking and boarding procedures and eliminate any kinks in their travel plans.
