On March 11, 2011, a magnitude 9.0 earthquake occurred off the coast of Honshu Island, Japan, causing airports in Narita, Haneda and Sendai to be closed. Two Air China flights, CA926 and CA930, were also detained at local airports, and both passengers and aircrafts were confirmed to be safe. 

In addition, Air China has cancelled the following Beijing/Shanghai to Tokyo flights today, including CA919, CA421, CA157, CA183 and CA163,plus CA155/CA156 between Beijing and Sendai on 12/Mar.Air China will pay close attention to local dynamics to adjust flights accordingly and timely issue information on official website. Passengers may also check ¡§Flight Status¡¨ section at Air China¡¦s homepage to search for relevant flight information.. 

To avoid economic loss for passengers, Air China will provide free rescheduling or refunds for passengers holding Air China tickets to or from Japan, or qualifying tickets that connect to Air China¡¦s China-Japan route.  .

1.      Qualifying  time period

Traveling date: March 11, 2011 until March 17, 2011.

2.      Qualifying tickets

Tickets on Air China¡¦s China-Japan route and tickets on Air China flights that connect to the China-Japan route

3.      Ticket changes and refunds

Passengers¡¦ requirements for rescheduling, refunds or endorsements will be considered non-voluntary and will be exempt from charges.

 

Please first contact your ticket office or agencies in the place where the tickets were purchased to cancel the original seats so as to take the next steps. If you want to change or refund group tickets or individual tickets issued by ticket agents or travel agencies, please cancel the original seats first and then take the next steps.
