Air China Launches Self Baggage Check-in
2010-05-01
Self baggage check-in, a service which Air China rolled out on April 28, is now available to passengers leaving Beijing for other domestic cities. Self baggage check-in is now being offered by very few carriers of the world. Based on the successful experiences of the world¡¦s fine carriers and IATA¡¦s standards in this regard, the new service feature of Air China has filled a void in the country¡¦s airline industry.
While using CUSS, the self check-in device, to check in onto a flight, enter the number of the pieces of baggage ¡V up to 3 - and get the boarding pass as well as the baggage tags.
Attach the tags to your baggage and hand your baggage over to the baggage counter.
The new service spares you the trouble of having to queue at counters to check in your baggage.
For the time being, the service is not applicable to the domestic segment of an international flight and selected domestic flights over the plateau, nor to special passengers like infants, kids, the ill and the disabled who require special assistance.
