I. Freight Check-in

1. Air China¡¦s Cargo department or its duly authorized agent for the shipper, should prepare the Shipper's Letter of Instruction and the Inhabitant Identity Card or any other identity certificates. The shipper should show the recommendation or any necessary certificates to meet Air China¡¦s Cargo department or its agent's requirements.

2. Perishables (PER), Live Animals (AVI), and Urgent or Time-Limited Goods must be booked on flights in advance. The shipper must check the goods in at the agreed upon place on the agreed upon date.

3. The shipper is responsible for obtaining valid certificates when consigning goods, which is limited by the government or should be authorized by the police and quarantine officials.

4. The shipper is responsible for the information being correct on the Shipper's Letter of Instruction.

5. The shipper should prepare the Shipper's Letter of Instruction when consigning goods with different requirements and conditions.

International Cargo

1. The shipper should prepare the Shipper's Letter of Instruction and any certificates and documents that are required.

2. The shipper is responsible for the information being correct on the Shipper's Letter of Instruction.

3. The shipper should be obligated to comply with all the laws and regulations of the originating country of the flight as well as the regulations of Air China and other airlines concerned.

4. The shipper should complete all formalities required by customs and quarantine of the origin country in advance.

II. General Packaging Instructions

1. The shipper is responsible for ensuring that the goods can be carried safely and the packing is sturdy so the goods cannot be broken, dissipated or leaked during the complete transportation.

2. Each package must be marked with the name and full address of the shipper, consignee and their employer. The package must also be marked with the shipper and consignee¡¦s storing and transportation needs.

3. A Cargo Tag must be attached to every package.

4. All old tags and labels should be removed from packing materials before new information is added.

5. The packing of special goods such as Live Animals (AVI), Perishables (PER), Valuable Cargo (VAL), Dangerous Goods (DG), etc..., should be in accordance with the owner¡¦s special requirements.

III. Size and Weight of Package

Domestic Cargo

1. The maximum gross weight of the goods and the size of the package must be in accordance with the aircraft restrictions and the capacity restrictions at the origin airport, transfer station and destination.

2. The sum of the length, width and height of each package must not be less than 40cm.

4. If the gross weight of each batch of cargo is less than 1kg, it will be calculated as 1kg. The unit of measurement for Valuable Cargo (VAL) is 0.1kg and the unit of measurement for chargeable weight is 0.5kg.

5. Each 6000cm3 of light cargo is equal to 1 kg.

International Cargo

1. The maximum gross weight of the goods and the size of the package must be in accordance with the aircraft restrictions and the capacity restrictions at the origin airport, transfer station and destination.

2. The sum of the length, width and height of each package must not be less than 40cm.

3. If the gross weight of each batch of cargo is less than 0.5kg, it will be calculated as 0.5kg. If the gross weight of each batch of cargo is more than 0.5kg, and less than 1kg, it will be calculated as 1kg. The unit of measurement for Valuable Cargo (VAL) is 0.1kg and the unit of measurement for chargeable weight is 0.5kg.

4. Each 6000 cm3 of light cargo is equal to 1 kg.

IV. Escorting goods in transportation (domestic goods only)

1. If the shipper appoints an escort to accompany the goods being shipped, the shipper must comply with the requirements of the carrier or the goods will not be accepted.

2. The shipper should contact Air China¡¦s cargo department in advance to book a flight and find out where to check-in the goods and get them weighed. The goods would need to be delivered to the Air Cargo department to consign at the agreed upon time. The escort of the goods should purchase the ticket and check-in by himself/herself.

3. The escort of the goods should be responsible for all damages or losses. Air China will not be liable to compensate for the loss or damage of the goods unless there is a certificate that states that Air China will take responsibility.
